Classroom workflows & Studio outputs

Session 5 40 minutes Choose by purpose, not by excitement

NotebookLM's Studio can produce quizzes, flashcards, study guides, reports, infographics, slide decks, mind maps, Audio Overviews and Video Overviews. This session is about choosing the right one for a teaching need — not pressing every button.

The rule

"Do not choose video because video is exciting. Choose video when movement, sequence or visual comparison improves understanding."

👀 Watch the demos — six grade bands, four minutes each

  1. LKG / UKG Five-word picture vocabulary plan, simple oral questions, a movement or matching activity. The output is for you to deliver — young children don't operate it.
  2. Classes 1–2 Short bilingual story, three oral comprehension questions, one sequencing activity.
  3. Classes 3–5 Three-level worksheet with answer key and a common-error note for the teacher.
  4. Classes 6–8 Concept explanation, misconception diagnostic, quick quiz.
  5. Classes 9–10 Chapter revision structure, formula/definition flashcards, exam-style questions.
  6. Studio artifact A pre-generated quiz, infographic, Audio Overview, slide deck or Video Overview — plus what to know before generating your own (below).
Studio realities Customise before you generate — format, language, style and steering instructions are set up front. Long artifacts (especially video) can take 30+ minutes and may not finish during a workshop. Generated voices and visuals can contain inaccuracies or glitches. Some video formats are English-only while Explainer narration supports more languages. And free accounts have small daily limits on audio/video generation — spend them deliberately.

🖐 Now you do it — one small output

Choose one: five-question quiz · one-page worksheet · bilingual vocabulary table · revision guide · lesson-opening activity · misconception diagnostic · flashcard plan · infographic brief.

Before generating, answer these four questions (your trainer will ask):

  1. What learning problem does this artifact solve?
  2. Which students is it for?
  3. Why is this format suitable?
  4. What must be checked before classroom use?
