Certification
Certification is earned by one classroom-ready resource, built and verified independently — scored against a 100-point rubric. This page has everything: the assignment, the rubric, the submission checklist and a readiness test.
Passing standard
You are certified when all of these are met:
- Overall score of at least 70 / 100
- At least 8 / 15 in verification and responsible use — an unverified artifact cannot pass, however attractive
- A usable classroom artifact submitted
- Reflection or presentation completed
- Evidence of individual work
| Score | Result |
|---|---|
| 85–100 | Certified with Distinction |
| 70–84 | Certified |
| 55–69 | Revision Required — one resubmission allowed |
| Below 55 | Participation Only |
The 100-point rubric
| Section | Points | What is scored |
|---|---|---|
| A. Notebook & source preparation | 20 | Clear purpose; relevant readable sources; at least two sources, one textbook/school-approved; source validation shown |
| B. Classroom relevance | 20 | Class, subject and objective identified; artifact solves a realistic need; planned use explained; difficulty appropriate |
| C. Educational artifact quality | 20 | Accurate information; clear instructions; usable content; structure and format support the objective |
| D. Prompting & refinement | 15 | Prompt includes class, objective and output; useful constraints; initial output improved; improvement explained |
| E. Verification & responsible use | 15 | Claims checked; citations reviewed; age-appropriateness assessed; language reviewed; no unnecessary sensitive data |
| F. Presentation & reflection | 10 | Resource explained clearly; realistic use; strengths and limitations acknowledged; independent understanding shown |

Reflection prompts
- What did you create, and who is it for?
- How will it be used in your classroom?
- What did NotebookLM do well? What was incomplete, incorrect or unsuitable?
- What did you change, and how did you verify the result?
- What would you do differently next time?
"Your certificate will not show that you watched a NotebookLM demonstration. It will show that you built, reviewed and explained a classroom resource independently."
